Exceptions to this:
- If a client makes a serious threat of intent to harm another person, I am legally bound to notify the police and inform the intended victim.
- If a client makes a threat of intent to harm themselves, I will make every effort to work with them to ensure their safety. However if they are unable to cooperate, I am allowed by law to take further measures without their permission, such as contacting 911, to ensure their safety.

We will discuss ways in which you prefer to handle these situations during our first meeting. ** By choosing walking therapy however, you will be taking the risk of encountering these situations and will need to carefully consider this possibility. If you find that you are not comfortable with either, you always have the option to meet in my office instead.
